Evaluating your current and future learning instructors

After 20+ years as a practitioner and educator in the design and user research industry, I’ve learned a lot about how to evaluate whether a program, coach or mentor is a good fit or not. What makes a good fit for both the student or mentee and the instructor or coach?

Today’s Fuel Your Curiosity newsletter provides four specific tips to help you evaluate your current and future learning instructors/coaches and the formats these programs and relationships offer.

Know this! Great coaches and educators are looking for a good fit with their clients. It’s a two-way street! (A great fit means success all around!)

These tips are applicable no matter the topic or learning environment you seek or whether are a student, coach, or mentor. Since good professional development programs can be a significant time and financial investment (especially if you don't have employer sponsorship), it REALLY pays to invest the time to find the right ones.
