What helps your perspective?

"Marching to the beat of your own drum" is a GREAT reminder it is okay to ZIG when everyone else ZAGS. And guess what? Even something as serious as the Paris Olympic logo ZAGS!

See the classic Olympic flame? Now squint and notice the [positive/gold] flame shape doubles as a woman. Her name is Marianne. Her face is in the negative/white space.

She's a symbol of the French Republic, rocking a bob hairstyle. See her lips, in the bottom center? Yep. There's a double meaning in this logo. Marianne has been a symbol of liberty since the French Revolution, and she’s all over France, from stamps to town halls. So, not just a pretty face or a flame, but a nod to French history and culture.

Marianne’s appearance in the logo is a reminder that the Olympics, while global, are also about celebrating local people and individual stories.

*** The 1900 Paris Games were the first to let women compete***

- AND -

***This year’s Games will have an equal number of male and female events for the first time.***

The logo isn't just about going for gold—it’s also about progress and equality. It's about perspective and a broader celebration.

Most things are about perspective, right? Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and you've got to decide if you're going to whine about it, learn from it, enjoy the ride, or otherwise.

Traveling always gives me much-needed perspective. And energy. And it inspires new ideas, like Marianne. And gives me time to think about my ideas, needs, and the bigger picture, to "see" things in new and different ways (like the Paris Olympic logo). And to ask big and small questions.

What helps your perspective?

What's your perspective these days?
