There are stark contrasts between research employment in the US and Japan. I wrote about my experience leading training workshops for an agency in Japan. It's called "UXR across cultures: What can we learn?" (A link is in the comments.)

This was a fascinating cultural journey on every single front. Dozens of people said how much they appreciated and learned from it.

Today I was reminded of the article and the experience when reading this article about research and employment in Japan. It's truly mind-blowing how much the two differ. (See link to article in the comments.)

I wonder what the long-term effects on Western versus Japanese employment will result from these variables.
