Looking for examples of unethical research
FEEDBACK PLEASE: I'm working on a new corporate User Research training program and looking for examples to underscore the significant ethical considerations we navigate in UX Research.
The set up begins with some foundations then dives into the examples.
User research is the process of figuring out how people interpret and use products and services.
We’re looking for "people problems”
People problems are needs and issues articulated by people on the street
We’re looking for underlying motivations and behaviors
User research helps us build empathy for the user in an evidenced based, structured manner
User research is one of several inputs into making the best possible and most important decisions
The reason UXR exists as a function, and a field, is that it's VERY easy to do poorly
There are also significant ethical considerations
What other examples would be helpful to add? Please add your comments below! TIA
