Learn more about freelance and independent UXR consulting
Who in my network works as an Independent Consultant in UX/UXR? Please share what you love about it! This Saturday I'm hosting a 2-hour session about independent UX/UXR consulting. The timing seems ripe considering all of the layoffs and the significant influx of questions I’ve fielded on this specific topic in the past six months.
We’ll talk about the questions I am most frequently asked about (finding/securing clients, writing proposals, work and payment structures, agreements/contracts, pricing, managing time, stakeholders and other expectations, financial and ethical considerations), and more.
I’ve been independent for 12 years and will share lessons learned, what I’ve tried, what works for me, what doesn’t, and why, and red flags (there will be many so know what to look for!), as well as other nuances. I’m an open book. This will be casual and we’ll have plenty of time to exchange areas and ask questions.
If you are interested in learning more about freelance and independent UX or UXR consulting, AND OR hiring independent talent, please join us.
FYI - Despite the payoffs, the UX/UXR work still needs to get done. Most of this work will likely be filled by independents because these costs sit on a different line item in an organization’s P/L. There is no better time to get informed!

Existing independents in UX/UXR, what do you wish you knew before you went off on your own?
