PLEASE JOIN US! We are holding a workshop on "Prioritizing Research for Impact" led by Carol Rossi.
As researchers, we’re always looking for ways to get more impact from research. One way to do that is to take on only projects that will be most valuable for the organization. And doing that can be tricky - it means we need to understand what’s “valuable” to the company, and we need to start saying “no” to less valuable projects (after we’ve just spent years telling stakeholders the importance of doing more research).
We’ll dive into a prioritization framework that helps you feel more confident that you’re doing the most important work by considering key factors for every research request:
What do we already know about the topic and what's our remaining level of uncertainty?
What’s the risk to the business of moving forward without research?
What’s the cost of doing research?
What’s the cost of developing the product without research?
You’ll learn
A set of criteria to help you prioritize research projects
How to assess research requests against business goals
How to involve stakeholders and at which points in the process
How to ease stakeholder conversations (including how to say no to stakeholders when their requested project is not prioritized) with scripts you can rely on
How to use a worksheet as a single source of truth to gather, assess, decide on, and communicate your priorities
The link to register is below. The live, remote event will take place on Thursday and a recording and the framework will be distributed to all registrants.
This is the third workshop in Curiosity Tank's new "Expert Training Series"!! Amy Santee and Miles Hunter blazed the trail sharing their mastery ;)
